P&O Cruises has been voted one of Australia’s most trusted brands, joining household names such as Dettol, Band-Aid and Toyota in Reader’s Digest’s 2013 Trusted Brands Survey.
This is the first year that cruise lines have been included in the survey, reflecting the surging popularity of cruising among Australians in recent years.
P&O Cruises Senior Vice President Tammy Marshall said it was an honour to be recognised as the country’s most trusted cruise line.
“All of the brands which have been ranked as leaders in this survey are well-established and much-loved Australian companies,” Ms Marshall said.
“To be included among the likes of Dulux, Colgate, Guide Dogs and Cadbury as one of the most trusted Australian brands is testament to our team to delivering great holidays as well as the loyalty of our many wonderful passengers.”
“P&O Cruises has been cruising from Australian shores for more than 80 years. “Over that time, we have worked hard to build a product that has really captured the hearts of Australian travellers,” Ms Marshall said.
“As every major brand knows, it takes a lot of work to gain and maintain the trust of customers so we are thrilled with this result. We are very focussed on delivering a quality, value-for-money product and we are constantly evolving our offering to ensure we deliver a great holiday experience to our passengers.”
Ms Marshall said engagement with cruise passengers was also a factor in the cruise line’s popularity. “Cruising is a real community so we keep in close contact with our passengers – before, during and after their cruise. Social media has really helped us develop this relationship and we now have more than 200,000 fans on Facebook as a result.”
The annual Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Survey has been operating for 13 years as an independent survey of the Australian public. This year 40 categories were featured and more than 3000 people were surveyed.
