Carnival Cruise Lines is set to raise the bar for quality cuisine at sea, today announcing major enhancements to its Australian dining offering in time for the 2013/2014 summer cruising season.
In a Carnival Cruise Lines world first, Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend will offer guests a “Long Lunch at Sea” hosted in the elegant Nouveau Restaurant, in response to Australian guests’ appreciation of fine dining and quality produce.The new Long Lunch at Sea will offer three delicious courses, including lobster, for only $30. Based on Aussie guests’ appetite for seafood, the new menu will include items such as grilled cold water lobster tail, fresh seafood platters (at an added cost of $20), blue crab salad as well as grilled duck breast and coconut flan. The Long Lunch at Sea will operate on sea days and will be available to all guests. Bespoke wine pairing for each course will also be available for an additional $20.
Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend’s main restaurant will offer fine dining delicacies at introductory prices as part of “A Taste of Nouveau”. Guests can have the option of upgrading their dining experience with items such as filet mignon and lobster, from $20. Empire Restaurant will also continue to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner as included in guests’ cruise fare.
Additionally, knowing there’s nothing better than a seaside summer snack, Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend will host a new destination onboard, “Freshie’s Corner.” Freshies Corner will give guests a taste of the ocean with a range of tasty morsels and light meals including pots of fresh prawns or mussels, classic fish n’ chips, kumera fries, fresh grilled chicken focaccias and the new bespoke Spirit Burger.
Freshie’s Corner will be open from 4pm until late every day, offering the perfect solution for hungry holiday makers after a full day of fun in the sun. A nominal surcharge will apply for these items.
